How To Join

Application for membership as a volunteer shall be submitted using the application form at the bottom of this page. You will them be contacted and asked to attend the next Business Meeting.  At that time, you will need to present a current driving record from DPS and, if applying for a Medical position, copies of all medical certifications too include a current CPR card.  Applications can be found HERE

Meetings

Meetings are conducted the 4th Wednesday of each month. Please check the home page of the website here for updates on meetings dates that may change due to Holidays, special circumstances or cancellations.  

Other

There are three categories to which you may apply.

         Medical Member, Medical Support Member, and Non-Medical Member

 

A Medical Member must be certified by the DSHS as an Emergency Care Attendant (ECA), Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT-B), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (EMT-P), or Licensed Paramedic (LP), or as these certifications evolve with different nomenclature through DSHS.

A Medical Support Member must be certified by the DSHS as an ECA, EMT-B, AEMT, EMT-P, or LP, or as these certifications evolve with different nomenclature through DSHS. Active Medical Support Members are defined as those Medical Members that participate in activities, fundraisers, and PR events as available, and are welcome to attend business meetings and training meetings, as well as respond to calls in the county along with Active Medical Members. Active Medical Support members will usually be assigned equipment and supplies on a temporary basis for use at an event, based on current protocols and DSHS certification level.

A Non-Medical Member is not required to hold any medical certification. These Members are defined as those Non-Medical Members that are encouraged, but not required, to attend activities, fundraisers and Public Relations (PR) events but are required to attend fifty percent (50%) of business and/or training meetings. These Non-Medical Active Members may assist a Medical Member on the scene of a call or event. Equipment will not be issued to these Members.

 

 

 

Active Medical Members are defined as those Medical Members that attend 12 events (activities, fundraisers, Public Relations (PR) events, business and/or training meetings, and/or emergency responses) every 6 months. (15 of which must be emergency responses) (2 must be business meetings) These Members are issued basic tools and supplies in accordance with Protocols and Credential/Clearance Level.
